Vokalno izvedbo bosta spremljala z instrumenti v živo in elektroniko.
English
Tinkara Kovač and Uroš Cingesar met last summer and started making music together. It soon became clear that they are taken over by Kosovel’s poetry, and this became the main theme of their present musical collaboration. So far, they have set more than thirty of Kosovel’s poems to music, which they plan to publish next year, on the occasion of 100th anniversary of Kosovel’s death. At the Philosophical Symposium in Stari Grad, they will perform mainly compositions based on Kosovel’s poetry, which they will premiere live. The repertoire will also include some original compositions, both individual and collaborative. We will hear a selection of hits, from classical to rock music, which inspired them and will be heard for the first time in the evocative atmosphere of St Ivan’s Church in Stari Grad. The focus will be on their powerful, intertwining vocal interpretation of outstanding Slovenian and international poetic texts.
Tinkara Kovač is Slovenian singer and flautist. She has released 13 albums since 1997 and received numerous prestigious awards for her work. She is also active in the theatre in Kranj, Koper, Nova Gorica and Trieste. For six years, as President of the Vilenica Association, she co-organised the international Vilenica Festival. In 2017, she published her debut picture book, an educational fairy tale dedicated to a 55,000-year-old Neanderthal flute found in Slovenia. Since 2023, she has been delving into the oeuvre of Sreček Kosovel. During this period, she is also preparing hes new rock tour and album.
Uroš Cingesar is a Slovenian musician, multi-instumentalist, prolific author. He has been making music for more than thirty years. In his childhood he attended music school, where he played accordion and guitar. Later, he played guitar and bass guitar in his first bands, and then he increasingly established himself as a vocalist and recorded some of his first compositions. He is an eclectic artist, with elements of pop, rock, jazz, electronica and classical music intertwined in his work. For a few seasons he worked at the Opera in Maribor as a baritone in the opera choir. In 2025, he will release an album with a record-breaking 500 tracks, which is a world record. He recorded it over fifteen years, played all the instruments on it, wrote and performed all the music, both vocal and instrumental parts, and collaborated with several songwriters.
